The primary Physics Lab at Rutgers University—Newark is being renovated and expanded this summer. The Lab in Smith 104 hasn't changed much since Smith was built in the 1960s. We started an ambitious renovation by gutting the lab and the storage room next door to double the size of the room.
In addition to the expansion, the lab will be outfitted with the latest technology for both the faculty and the students. The physics lab course is also being redesign to enable a more active learning focus for the students.
