Over this past summer, Academic Technology Services upgraded the technology in ten classrooms (Conklin 238, 346, 348, 352, 445, 455; Bradley 311, 312, 403; Hill 108). This new equipment includes an upgraded touch screen to control display and audio content. New HDMI projectors have been installed to increase visual presentations and speakers have been replaced to enhance audio quality.
Also, the Physics Lab in Smith 104 was fully renovated. Technology upgrades include wireless presentation, an annotation touch monitor at the instructors station and multiple projectors. Students can collaborate and share content on one of the 40" monitors located at each station. Additionally, new furniture, flooring and whiteboards were installed in eleven classrooms (Engelhard 209, 211, 309; Hill Hall 202, 205; Smith Hall B22, B23, B24, B25, B26, B27).
During the upcoming months, renovations and technology improvements will also continue throughout the university. Conklin 449 and CLJ 202 are sychronous learning classrooms that will be upgraded to include Cisco video conferencing equipment. In addition to this, these rooms will be upgraded with Mersive Solstive units. This will allow users to present from anywhere in the room without using cables or adapters. We are looking forward to this opportunity to work with faculty and staff to transform curriculum and provide additional active learning opportunities for our students.
